Midwifery Access for Mothers Act (Privileging Bill):
ACNM is currently working on a Federal Midwifery Privileging Bill, Midwifery Access for Mothers Act. This national level bill would give midwives the same level of privileges in hospitals as physicians, including admitting, discharge, due process, voting on committees and med staff issues, committee participation, and leadership and the ability to supervise the care of Medicare patients as we do our other patients.
