Deena Chamlee's bio:
Ms. Chamlee has been practicing nurse midwifery since 2001. Prior to becoming a certified nurse midwife, she specialized for sixteen years in high risk obstetrics/labor and delivery nursing and received training in obstetrical ultrasound at John Hopkins University. She has practiced abroad on the island of Guam where she started a fetal assessment unit that later grew into a Women’s Center. Since practicing as an advanced nurse practitioner, Ms. Chamlee became increasingly interested in electronic medical records (EMR). As a result in 2005, during the infancy of EMR’s, she sought employment with DigiChart; the only company whose EMR is affiliated with and recommended by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologist. She traveled nationally to universities, hospitals and OB/GYN practices presenting evidence that EMRs would improve overall operational expenditures and quality of care. Ms. Chamlee served as chairman for the American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM) Oregon affiliate from 2007-2010.Her Bachelor of Science in nursing and Masters of Science in nurse midwifery were obtained at Oregon Health and Science University where she currently remains adjunct faculty. Ms. Chamlee is also a veteran of Desert Storm and assisted the country by reporting for duty to fill back billets at Charleston South Carolina.
Recently became third owner and partner of an independant midwifery practice serving the Vancouver/Portland area, Elan Midwifery.
